Our Council Christmas Party will held in Wellens Hall on December 18th. PGK and Social Director Paul Mansberger, AKA Santa Claus, has promised an unqualified good time for all.  If you haven’t told Paul that you want to be a part of this jubilant affair, do so now. For all this good time we will be collecting a “free will donation” at the door. But Brothers let’s not be cheap on the donations. Just be reasonable. Remember this is your Council too and I don’t think you want to see it go broke.  But seriously, this what we as Knights of Columbus are all about, Brotherhood and Unity.

Brothers, the Christmas season is here.  This could be a time of the year that can be enormously joyful or one of great stress.  The stress starts when, if you’re like me and every other male, you’re already racking you brain trying to figure just what she wants.  But as Knights, as Catholics let’s not lose the vision what really this celebratory time is all about.  Remember “Jesus is the real reason for this season”! We should be greatly rejoicing that our Lord and Savior was born for you and me and the salvation of the entire world. We throw big parties for people’s birthdays all year long. We buy huge cakes and yell “Happy Birthday”. Carol threw a huge surprise party for me in July. But this is HIS birthday! He who came to show and tell us the way to our salvation and our immortal souls. Where are the songs, other that in church and on the radio. And more than half of the tunes on the radio don’t even mention Jesus Christ. It’s not politically correct.  Where is our exultation? For Him! Him who came to Earth in peace in a very turbulent time in history. The Roman Empire ruled the civilized world with an iron boot and really didn’t care for people who disturbed their status quo. Rejoice for His arrival and that He’s given us a path to salvation.

Brother Knights Carol and I wish and pray that each and every one of you and your families have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS! And a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Vivat Jesus!
